February… set an intention to radiate love


It is the reminder of Valentine’s Day to celebrate love. Still being early in the year, its also the perfect time to bring in love and shift how we approach the year ahead. Love is the perfect energy to bring in at the beginning of the year because it expands our potential on so many levels. When we are filled with love for ourselves and others, we radiate an energy that attracts new positive people and experiences.


February is the time to get passionate about your heart chakra. Being the energy centre for love, your heart chakra affects your health, strength and internal balance. Heart chakra healing inspires you to practice forgiveness, acceptance and unconditional love, all of which offer harmonious living under a divine power. When your heart chakra is working at its highest potential you radiate its loving energy, which deepens your bonds with others and makes you a positive presence in their lives.


The Heart Chakra is the 4th Chakra, located at the centre of the seven. It is where the physical and spiritual come together. This is your centre for self-love and love for others; divine, unconditional love and compassion. This is the place which allows you to care. The ability to approach life with divinity and grace, no matter what arises, flows from this chakra. It governs patience, joy, purity and clarity.


With an open Heart Chakra you are full of love, forgiveness and compassion. If the Heart Chakra is out of balance, or closed, you tend to be filled with anger, grief, shame, guilt, hatred and jealousy, all being physical manifestations of a fourth chakra that needs to be healed.


When we love ourselves, we become better lovers, partners and friends. Instead of constantly focusing on attracting love, set an intention to radiate love. This may involve some self-examination and healing. Investing time and energy into honouring yourself will help you to love, accept and value 'you' to live radiantly as your very best self and in turn, your vibrant essence will naturally attract others to you.


Take time to honour yourself with these three simple self-love practices into a weekly routine to radiate love from every cell of your being! Self-love is all about making time to nurture yourself and loving yourself unconditionally.


SELF LOVE + OPEN YOUR HEART PRACTICES


1. Rose Quartz

Rose Quartz is the stone of unconditional love. Its strengthens compassion, patience and empathy, plus heightens spirituality and unconditional love. Wearing or holding rose quartz helps to heal all aspects of the heart. This stone emits strong vibrations of love. It’s a powerful stone to love yourself more or heal from past hurts. 2. Affirmations

Maintaining a healthy sense of self-love is crucial to your overall well-being. The more you accept, understand and appreciate yourself, the more you thrive under any circumstances. To increase your self-love, each morning, when you wake up and look in the mirror as you brush your teeth or apply your makeup, stop to look into your eyes and affirm the truth that you are an exquisite expression of divine love. 3. Heart Chakra Meditation

Simple, 3-5-minute heart chakra meditation, feel free to hold rose quartz or any crystals:


Find a comfortable, relaxing place where you won’t be disturbed.


Sit and breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth for a few minutes. Feel your body relaxing as you do this.


Visualise a drawing green energy up through your body towards the heart, starting at the base of the spine and moving upwards.


Picture that energy solidifying into a bright ball of green energy sitting at the level of the heart chakra. As you inhale and exhale, see that ball becoming bigger and brighter.


Focus on tuning into feelings of love for yourself and others, letting the green energy radiate through your whole body. Emerge from the meditation after 3-5 minutes.


We can choose to meet 2018 with an open heart, or we can allow our past to shield us off. Set an intention to radiate love. Whenever life steers us away from our loving intention, practice non-interference and recommit to love. We can use these three simple self-love practices to realign our heart chakra and bring everything back to love.
