spring clean your heart and your home

Spring signals a time for cleaning house, literally and figuratively. It’s time to enjoy the outdoors, the feeling of more energy and to celebrate the beauty and power of nature. It’s also a time to renew our spirits, to set intentions of welcoming in renewed and refreshed energy. It is very important to clean your space and clear the energy. This makes room for the greatness of all that’s about to emerge in your life.

Have you done your Spring Cleaning yet? If not, here are a few spring energy cleansing tips and tools to help you.

I’ve spent today cleansing our home with Palo Santo.

Palo Santo is one of my favourite energy cleansing tools. Palo Santo is a sacred wood that comes from the Palo Santo trees of South America. When it is burned, the smoke is believed to have medicinal and therapeutic healing power. It inspires creativity, clears out negativity, raises your vibration and brings love and fortune. Its aroma is incredible, standing among the greatest of the world’s fragrant woods. Because of its extraordinary blessings it bestows upon those who have the good fortune to use it, over time, this plant medicine has reached a divine-like status in the hearts and minds of people. I also use Palo Santo to clear my healing space after every client.

Traditionally, people use an abalone shell to hold the Palo Santo and then a feather to fan and spread the smoke around the space when burning it. Abalone shells are easy to hold when walking around a space, and they can withstand the heat created from the burning herbs.” Feathers remove dense energy from the body and energetic field.

Spring clean your home

Start at the front of your home or space. With your unlit Palo Santo and lighter in your hand, take a second to feel into your feet. Ground yourself, imagining the soles of each foot growing roots that extend into the earth. Take a few deep breaths, feeling this energy. When you’re ready, light your Palo Santo, keeping the flame lit for a few seconds before extinguishing it to make sure it smoulders. You can ask your guides, angels, the universe, or god/dess for guidance, saying something like…

May this be a space of peace and positivity. I ask (the universe/ god/ my guides/ angels) to cleanse and clear this space, allowing only that which serves my highest good to remain…

Continue to feel rooted in the earth, imagining white light emanating from the smoke. With your feather, or wand or hand, waft the smoke as you move throughout your space, from front to back. You can continue to ask whoever for guidance and to clear negative energy. Stagnant energy tends to accumulate in corners, so make sure to get those. You can also use smoke to cleanse furniture. Walk around your space, continuing to waft the smoke.

Once you feel like your ritual is complete, come back to the front of your home or space. Feel your feet once again rooted to the earth. Thank whatever energies you worked with and ask them to bless your space. Take some deep breaths, feeling grounded and supported. Pressing your forehead to the earth and thanking her for her support after this feels amazing. Then, drink some water and enjoy your space!

Spring clean yourself

One of the most important things to do, to maintain balance and happiness in your life, is to clear and purify your body of negative energy. Starting at your head, use the smoke to cleanse yourself. Work down your body, paying special attention to places where you feel and carry tension — like your jaw, heart, or shoulders. Imagine someone you love giving you a hug. Palo Santo is meant to connect you to your heart space, so everything you do should feel good.

Our stock of Palo Santo has just arrived! You can order here.

Love and Blessings
