Hi! I’m Eve, and I’m so excited to be part of the team here at Beaches Healing. 


Isn’t being a human so interesting!  We have so much in common with each other and at the same time we are all so unique! We are all driven to understand ourselves, others and the world we live in.  Consciously or subconsciously we’re often seeking answers to questions like Who am I?  Why do I do the things I do/feel the way I feel? How did I end up here/how do I get to there? When will things change? What was that all about?  Humans are great problem solvers and mostly we can be pretty good at working things out.  But sometimes we can’t – we can feel stuck, unsure, lost and more.  Friends and family can be too close to be impartial.  This where counselling can be useful.


What is counselling?

Counselling is known as a Talk Therapy.  My role as a counsellor primarily is to give you space – to talk (or not talk), to meet you where you are at and be with you as you work things out. Because you will. There’s magic in being able to share what’s going on with someone who can listen and let you be, without the expectations, pressures, judgements we might experience from those in our day to day lives. Counselling is for YOU as the captain of your life, wherever you are at, on any particular day, in any given situation. Some days you might need shelter from a storm, other times to have someone cheer you on as you lean in hard, other times it might be to learn something new about yourself. 


How does counselling happen? You can:


Come sit with me

Face-to-face in a room is the more traditional way counselling sessions are held. And there are good reasons for it.  As humans we like to read each other’s body language.  It can also be comforting to be in the physical presence of another. I am at Beaches Healing every second Friday morning. For those who might find being in a room claustrophobic I also offer face-to-face outdoors at undercover picnic tables at Middle Creek or Jamieson Park (yes even in Winter – we rug up and I bring hot chocolate). I can also bring chairs to a location of your choice.


Come walk with me

Talking while walking can feel less intimidating than being directly opposite someone in a room or online. It also has the added benefits of movement and fresh air. I offer Walk and Talk sessions at a number of locations across the Northern Beaches.


Join me online

Online sessions are like face-to-face but are run via Zoom. Some of the advantages include saving on travel time, costs of getting to counselling rooms and parking. Online sessions also mean counselling is more easily available to people:

  • living in areas where there may be limited transport

  • living with certain disabilities eg people who are less mobile

  • living with social anxiety or phobias
